Common courtesy and human decency just dont exist.
Has it ever?... im not to sure about that...
it would be unfair for me to clump the whole world into that statement, surely somewhere it still exists...
I cant speak for other countries cause ive never been there... nor can I speak for other states cause i don't live there... BUT this city here... THIS city where i reside... if you should come across it you'll be a lucky soul cause common, basic, human decency or 'love' don't live in this town.
Many years ago there was a woman sitting on a subway bench. She was isolated on that bench because she was homeless. She was crying... many people passed her, most people just gawked at her, but not a single person reached out to her. not a one. Whatever circumstances got her to where she was didn't make her less of a human being.
There was something in me that felt the need to somehow reach out to her in someway so i gave her the only thing i had to offer ... Not a wad of money or even a bit a change. Just a tissue. I wish i had stuck around a little longer, but i didn't. But inside, i hoped she knew, it wasn't just a tissue i gave her but the 'something' in me that felt compelled by her circumstances, her sadness, her tears that made me stop at all to offer her a 'token' of simple human kindness... true story
COMMON...HUMAN... DECENCY... ITS NOT THAT HARD FOLKS... WHY DON'T YOU TRY IT SOMETIME... Dulcelyn B.aka urbanhigheeled Diva
You are such a beautiful soul. Kindness doesn't cost anything. Make no mistake. Kindness does not mean weakness. The lack of showing kindness costs society in many ways. Good for you Lyn! Keep being a leader. Never be a follower.
