Bellow are pics from my box for the month of July.  Julep Maven is a monthly nail polish subscription for 19.99.  When you first sign up you fill out a style questionaire.  It will determine your personal 'style box'.  

Are you a 'Classic With a Twist' an 'American girl', 'Boho Glam, a 'Bombshell' or an 'It Girl'?!   The first 4 styles usually contain 2 nail polishes and an extra and 'It Girl' usually will contain 3 polishes no extra.  With this company you can skip a box or cancel at any time. 

I'm loving this subscription cause i LOVE NAIL POLISHES.  My style is 'Classic w/ a twist' and this month it included 2 polishes an extra freebee polish called AMERICA and a lipgloss.

At sephora just ONE julep polish is 14 bucks pft.  Any way below are pics and swatches of the polishes and lipgloss in the JULY CLASSIC WITH A TWIST JULEP MAVEN BOX.

GETTING BACK ON A HEALTHY TRACK

I have managed to lose 17 pounds using a BeachBody program called

SLIM IN 6.

Although I'm truly happy I have accomplished that weight loss its NOT my total goal.

I'd like to be down 30 pounds In total.

But you know life gets in the way you lose motivation, after a long day at work, commuting, who wants to workout!? and since you aren't working out why not eat what you want right?

So a few weeks after adopting that mentality I put on a little of the weight i lost but I'm glad I did in a way cause now from this starting point we can work on it together.

THE GOAL:  Since I put on some of the weight i lost, my new total goal is 20 pounds instead of 15.

THE HOW:  

            EATING: The plan is to to eat 4-5x a day again.  Mostly consuming protein very little carbohydrates. But its still important to incorporate carbs in your 'diet'.  You want to lose weight the right way eating a BALANCED meal and yes your body needs carbs to function properly.

THE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION SMACKDOWN

There are a TON of monthly subscriptions out there nowadays.  They range anywhere from 10 to 22 dollars and some even more per month.  Most of them are beauty sample subscriptions but now you can find Eco friendly boxes to even monthly SNACK BOXES... lol but I love them! they're fun.  Feels like little Christmas every month... um except you're paying for it... ;p

I'm guilty to subscribing to a few of these monthly boxes.  They can be addicting especially if you love playing with beauty products and want to test brands you either 1. never heard of  2. dont have access to or 3. just cant afford full sized products.  So for 10 bucks a month its not so bad.

If you've had your eye on a few montly subscriptions or you would like to consider one I will post photos for THREE that i am currently subscribed to...

The myglam and Birchbox subscriptions are 10 dollars each per month.  Sample society is 15 dollars plus tax per month.  All these subscriptions can be cancelled whenever as long as you subscribe to the monthly subscriptions and not the yearly. 

SMOKEY EYE OH MY!

As old as I am  i have never sucessfully done a smokey eye without looking like I was punched in the face.  I finally did it!  I watched like a million different youtube 'SMOKEY EYE' videos i could find.

It's The Balm!.. indeed

This is my first time playing around with any makeup from THE BALM.  Im really liking it.  I was initially attracted to the packaging.  Im a 'packaging' kinda lady and this definitely fits the bill. Plus the names are just too cute.

I have seen these products watching youtube videos and i have found a few Balm pieces here and there at TJ MAXX.  So when they reappeared on HAUTELOOK (since I had a credit from a previous purchase) I decided to pick up a few things and try em out for myself. 

These are worth your time.  The products I purchased are highly pigmented and creamy.  They can be purchased on The Balm's website  https://www.thebalm.com/ or if you wait they do show up every couple of months on Hautelook.

Kissable Lips, Kissable Revlon

 

Revlon has recently released a new lip stain the JUST BITTEN KISSABLE LIPSTAINS ...OHLALAA

What can I say about these hmm well the youtube community just 'loves loves loves' em. 

They are being compared to Clinique's chubby sticks and Tarte's lipsurgence pencils.  They only compare in packaging.  These eventually will be readily available at your local Walmarts, CVS, rite aid etc.etc however at the moment since they are new and in high demand I was only able to fine a few shades at Targets.  I LOVE YOU TARGET!

These are fairly nice and affordable. I can't honestly say they are fantastic and MUST have them all like the revlon lip butters. But it's worth trying at least one shade.

I picked up two of the lighter shades that were available.

HONEY: is a nice pinky peach nude that would be flattering on most skin tones. I am medium skin tone or NC32 if you want to compare how they would flatter you.

SMITTEN: is a dark fascia pink.
